Muslim Brotherhood front group Council on American Islamic Relations – Minnesota (CAIR-MN) should lose tax-exempt status

  • Information about the connection between CAIR-MN and the terrorist network HAMAS.
  • What did CAIR-MN do to violate IRS code.
  • How to send a complaint to the IRS about CAIR-MN violating code.
CAIR is HAMAS
November 16, 2018, Duluth News Tribune, “Flanagan, Walz pick labor, faith and business leaders for transition advisers,” announced Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations-Minnesota (CAIR-MN), as a member on the incoming Minnesota Governors transition advisory board.
This is not good news for Minnesota. Why? Because CAIR is a front group for terrorist organization the Muslim Brotherhood.
CAIR was also designated as an unindicted co-conspirator during the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial. FBI Special Agent Lara Burns testified that CAIR was a front group for radical organizations operating in the U.S. funding terrorist organization activity—specifically Hamas.
The Center for Security Policy describes the association between CAIR and terrorist organization Hamas in a 2016 publication “C.A.I.R. is HAMAS: How the Federal Government Proved that the Council on American Islamic Relations is a Front for Terrorism.”
“In 2008, the United States Department of Justice successfully prosecuted the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) and its founders on 108 charges, including material support for terrorism, money laundering and tax fraud. The government’s theory of the case, successfully proven at trial, was that the Holy Land Foundation was established as a front group of the Palestine Committee—a covert organization of the U.S. branch of the Muslim Brotherhood—and that its purpose in this conspiracy was to provide funds for the Palestinian terrorist organization, Hamas.”
Further,
“…CAIR cloaks itself in claims of moderation while promoting the same Islamic supremacist agenda of encouraging American Muslims to support Jihad, both against Israel and elsewhere. While the group publicly promotes a toned-down version of Islamist rhetoric for the American public as a whole, its own history belies these claims of moderation.
A number of CAIR’s employees and board members have been indicted, convicted and deported for terrorism or material support for terrorism, as noted by the Louisiana State House of Representatives when it voted to support a prohibition against state officials “interacting with the group.”
October 8, 1997, Hamas was designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. Secretary of State in accordance with section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

CAIR is Hamas, an offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.

One has to ask… Why, in spite of the unequivocal evidence and testimony, does CAIR continue to enjoy tax-exempt status as a nonprofit under the guise of being a human rights organization in the U.S.?
And, was the inclusion of the executive director of CAIR-MN on the governor elects advisory board a little “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine?”
Last October, CAIR-MN executive director Jaylani Hussein held a press conference announcing the publication of a report titled, “Minnesota’s Anti-Muslim Propaganda Mill.”
By publishing this report CAIR-MN, ISAIAH, UniteCloud, in association with other nonprofits, violated their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by actively campaigning in opposition to candidate(s) running for state and federal public office in the 2018 general and primary elections in the state of Minnesota.
The report not only included a candidate running in a congressional race, but also included the MN GOP republican gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson.
What can we do when the Minnesota Governor elect and sitting members of Congress like Tom Emmer legitimize organizations, such as CAIR, by meeting with them and appointing them to advisory boards?
Well, for one thing, any citizen may submit IRS Form 13909 requesting the IRS evaluate violations of tax-exempt status by nonprofit organizations, such as CAIR, in light of the organizations blatant violation by directly interfering in political campaigns.
Concerned about retaliation or reprisal? IRS Form 13909 may be submitted anonymously.

COMPLAINT
Violation: IRS Rev. Rul. 2007-41 (See Situation #16)
This is a complaint against CAIR-MN, ISAIAH, UniteCloud and all other nonprofits whose logo are included in an October 2018 report “Minnesota’s Anti-Muslim Propaganda Mill,” for violating their 501(c)(3) nonprofit charters and tax-exempt status. These groups actively campaigned in opposition to candidate(s) running for state and federal public office in the 2018 general and primary elections in the state of Minnesota.
Written documents and verbal comments made by directors of these groups are explicitly in violation of Revised IRS Rule 2007-41 (as illustrated in Situation #16). Specifically, the IRS code states:
“Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes…. voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.”
With this complaint I am requesting the IRS enforce this rule which clearly and patently prohibits nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, political campaigns on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidates for elective public office. The law is clear and should be enforced to its fullest extent including revocation of tax-exempt status of these organizations and possible imposition of certain excise taxes.
CAIR-MN, ISAIAH, UniteCloud, and all other associated nonprofits have openly shown bias favoring one candidate over another; opposing candidate(s) in a written document and public statements of position; and have effectively favored candidates over others, constituting participation and/or intervention in 2018 political campaigns. These groups have flagrantly violated the prohibition against participation or intervention in political campaign activity.
RECORDS OF EVIDENCE
On October 18, 2018, just days prior to the November elections, CAIR-MN, ISAIAH, and UniteCloud, all 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporations, announced the publication of a report “Minnesota’s Anti-Muslim Propaganda Mill.”
Verbal and written public statements of position on behalf of the organization(s) in opposition of gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson and U.S. house of representative’s candidate A.J. Kern, clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity Revised IRS Rule 2007-41.
An October 2018, press conference held by CAIR-MN, ISAIAH, and UniteCloud was reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune in the article ‘Report by Minnesota groups condemns anti-Muslim rhetoric’.
